Winning the 21st Century

The Transformational Summit

It’s the place, especially during the Reformation, from which most of the scientific invention and artistic innovation emanated. The Church, and Christians in particular such as Galileo, Newton, Bach and Michelangelo were the real innovators in the culture. It’s also the place from where the concepts of self-evident truths and inalienable rights made their way into the fabric of this great country. At one time the Church was the center of community life and truly was the salt and light of the nation.

In our time Church has been demoted to merely an activity like Scouts, Little League or Karaoke. Our emotional center of gravity is our home, our job or school. Rarely is it the Church. Why can’t the Church be the transformational catalyst in a community? Look to where we invest our emotional and fiscal capital. Therein lies the answer. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matt. 6:21 NIV)

Let’s restore the Church to its rightful place in our culture and not just reacting to the world by coming up with Christian Rock, Christian Hip-Hop and Christian versions of everything else the world offers. Why can’t we be the innovators again? Why can’t we be the transformational force in our culture? Why can’t we be what Christ designed us to be and as a result, win the 21st century?

God has blessed this nation as he has no other in history. Our Christian heritage and our prosperity have combined to make an economic engine that has led the planet in feeding the world, defending the world from tyranny and bringing freedom to much of it. This new century brings another challenge to American Christians and the American Church. God has placed the stewardship of immense resources in our keeping. We have the means to fund God’s Great Commission and have an unprecedented impact on this planet.

Will your church be part of that transformational force that God uses to win the 21st century?
